Zayn Just Revealed He's Keeping His Relationship With Gigi Private After His Split With Perrie Edwards

Zayn Malik has just dropped the biggest hint yet that his new album is about his split with Perrie Edwards ... well 40 percent of it at least.

The singer broke off his engagement with the Little Mix star shortly after leaving One Direction, then started writing the tracks for Mind of Mine, his first solo album. (FYI Zayn fans, it's out this Friday).

While discussing the album, Zayn has said something pretty sad about the breakup, suggesting he split with Perrie because he fell out of love. I can't even.

Asked how many of his tracks were about love, and how many were about heartbreak, he told Complex Magazine: "There's a good ratio of both. There's a lot of falling in love and a lot of falling out of love. It's probably 60/40, falling out of love.

"I feel like you get creative with things when you can be honest. Whether that's positive or negative, it can work both ways," he said. "If you're in a really good place, you can write a really good, upbeat song. When you're in a s**t place you can write a downbeat f**king ballad! That's just the way it is. But I feel like you can draw good creative things from both."

So, there's the silver lining. The next time you break up with someone, channel all that heartbreak into writing a song and you may just get a top ten album out of it.

Zayn's now moved into the proper couple zone with Gigi Hadid. Have you seen this photo of them snuggling on Instagram? Totally into each other.

When asked how he's coped with having another relationship in the public eye, Zayn said: "I try to keep the two very separate. I try to, as much as I can. But there's only so much you can do. I'm learning to deal with it. It's just one of those things now, in the background. I just leave it as a bit of a noise in the background."
